I am complete pants at self-promotion. I don't do people well. (The idea of something like a book signing, for instance, affects me much like the prospect of being lowered naked into a vat of crickets.) I'm not under any impression this is going to make me rich or famous. I will not be babbling about this a lot.

However, if anyone likes my fan fiction and is interested, I now have a book available on Kindle. Ebook, that is.

This is what I have been working on for the last two years. I could yak about it a lot, but I'll restrain myself to a few things. It's got a little romance, m/m, some action, murders, a mystery or two, and ambiguous werewolves in it. I found it a little hard to categorize. It's maybe supernatural, but any horror is human.

So, yeah, there's that.

Now, I'm going to curl up like a pill bug for a while in an agony of embarrassment because I want people to buy it and love it the way I do. Really, just don't tell me if you aren't interested. I'm going to write some fanfic. I'm perfectly confident in my ability to ... Well, not perfectly confident, but I've done it before at least.

aka the original fic novel

An update no one knew they wanted because I haven't posted about working on this monstrous (haha, that's a joke, you see) story here or anywhere, though I've been relatively steadily working on it since the first of the year.

It ticked over a hundred thousand words sometime this week. I didn't happen to notice when it happened; I track how many words I write per day (and some times it's just five sentences), but I don't pay much attention to total.

And last night the characters took over and enacted a climactic scene utterly differently than I'd outlined! It came out tighter, filled with danger and a rescue I didn't know would happen until it did, along with an upcoming betrayal I also didn't anticipate.

Don't take me wrong, I'm delighted, but I wish it hadn't taken eight months for these three bastards to come to life and start pulling their own weight.

And I really resent [personal profile] eretria for the fact that thanks to her tumblr post I'm now imagining one of them as Idris Elba. I would have to do so much rewriting to describe him as Mr. Elba.

But, damn.

I think you all understand.

Idris Elba.

[personal profile] springwoof  tagged me for this. I'm interpreting seven lines to mean seven paragraphs.

From the abominable original fic thing, presently titled The Hangman of Wolves, pg. 77:

And I tag [personal profile] eretria, because I know she has something she's writing.
